Augusta Eats Local

Augusta Eats Local

Jan 1, 2016 | Augusta Eats Local, Campaign, In The News

“Which chefs are supporting local farmers?”

“What restaurants are serving local foods?”

These are questions we at Augusta Locally Grown get all the time!

Now, with our new “Augusta Eats Local” window decal, we hope to be able to guide you in the right direction.

Our committee consists of volunteers who gladly go out on the town together to do “research” on their own dime. When they discover a chef in town who is buying from local farmers, the committee celebrates that chef/restaurant with a decal and social media.  Tough job, but someone’s got to do it!

Augusta Eats Local is the first of three campaigns that we will launch with support from the Georgia Food Oasis. The purpose of this program is to award, celebrate and network on behalf of those businesses that buy from local farmers.

We hope to:

  1. increase customers frequenting awarded businesses
  2. increase farmers’ sales among local businesses
  3. build interest in and demand for local foods in general
