Augusta Locally Grown hosts a competitive internship program for local high-school & college students.

High-School Internships

Semester requirements include:
Paid Internships
  • work 3 hours weekly at one of our farmers markets or our community educational programs
  • volunteer at one of our community events once each semester
  • complete a work-visit at a local farm once each semester
Unpaid Internships (for Senior Projects)
  • complete a satisfactory number of hours on a project of your choice within our organization
  • projects can be at the farmers market, at our educational programs or at our teachings gardens or at farms

College Internships

College and post-graduate interns come to Augusta Locally Grown from a wide variety of disciplines and interests. From medical students, nutrition and public health, to horticulture, agriculture and even anthropology … the local foods movement has a place for everyone willing to pitch in, work, hard, and make a difference.

 

Semester requirements include:
Undergraduate Requirements:
  • availability to complete an unpaid, semester-long internship of at least 3 hours per week
  • willingness to work alongside a community mentor
Post-Graduate Requirements:
  • availability to complete an unpaid, semester-long internship of at least 3 hours per week
  • ability to create and guide a research project, in an area of your interest, related to local foods
