Apr 18, 2016Farmer Support, Meet My Farmer

The hard work and quality care that characterizes Clyde’s Fresh Produce should be credited to Foster Olson even though, as its name suggests, the farm really belongs to Clyde, his German wire-haired pointer.

This Certified Naturally Grown, 15-acre farm in Grovetown offers a bountiful array of vegetables and fruits, such as cucumbers, broccoli, squash, peas, blueberries, watermelon, cantaloupe, tomatoes, peppers, beans, corn, kale, carrots, onions, and local honey.

Foster lived on several farms growing up, which no doubt planted the seed for his interest in farming and love of anything outdoors. With a degree in agriculture and experience as a feed consultant, Foster’s passion for farming has culminated into a fitting lifestyle.

For Foster, the profession is all about providing quality food at a fair price. Take for instance the farm’s number one crop, tomatoes. Foster is proud to say that his tomatoes have three times the taste of their store-bought competitors. If you ask me, that kind of authenticity and flavor is what we should be craving on our plates.

In addition to our market, Clyde’s Fresh Produce also sells through Olson’s Grovetown Farm and Garden store, at the Augusta Market on Saturdays, the Charlie Norwood VA Medical Center every other Friday, and will be available via the farm’s roadside stand at Lewiston Road and Mill Branch Drive starting mid-May.
