SCHOOL GARDEN INSTALLATION – WITH BAYVALE ELEMENTARY

SCHOOL GARDEN INSTALLATION – WITH BAYVALE ELEMENTARY

Where there’s a will, there’s a way.  And in this case, the willpower comes straight from teacher and school garden champion Jessica Moore Shuff.  Ms. Shuff first pitched her idea for a school garden at Bayvale Elementary at a Georgia Food Oasis meeting earlier this year.  Since then, a small army of supporters have embraced her vision, including a local funder, student volunteers from Helms College, and urban farmer Robert Sims of R & R Sustainable Farms who hopes to start a garden club with after school students.

This week, that energy culminated in a four-bed garden install, just in time for planting collards, kale, broc, turnips and carrots!!!
