Terms of Service

Effective date: September 3, 2026

1. Acceptance

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) are an agreement between you and Augusta Locally Grown, Inc. (“ALG”, “we”, “us”, “our”), a nonprofit organization in Augusta, Georgia.

By using the Services, buying from us, registering for a class, picking event sessions, or donating, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.

Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information. It is part of these Terms.

2. The Services

“Services” means all four of the following, together:

Main site — augustalocallygrown.org — Our public marketing and donation site.

CropSwap — our online market, at the web address we publish on augustalocallygrown.org — Our online farmers-market storefront.

Classes — classes.augustalocallygrown.org — Year-round class registration.

Homegrown — homegrown.augustalocallygrown.org — The class picker for the Homegrown Augusta event, October 9–10, 2026.

2.1 Separate platforms have their own terms

We use other companies to take payment and sell tickets. Their terms and privacy policies govern your use of their platforms, not these Terms.

  • TicketStripe sells Homegrown Augusta tickets at https://ticketstripe.com/Homegrown2026.

  • Donorbox processes donations on our main site.

  • Stripe processes payments for CropSwap and Classes.

If one of these platforms fails, changes its rules, or refuses a transaction, that is between you and that company. We will help where we can, but we do not control them.

3. Eligibility

You must be 18 years of age or older to buy, register, donate, or hold an account.

A parent or legal guardian may register a minor for a class or event. If you do, you are responsible for that minor: for the accuracy of the information you give us, for their conduct, and for supervising them as the class or event requires. Some classes and activities have their own minimum age. We will state it on the listing.

4. Accounts, links, and codes

You are responsible for keeping your access secure and for everything done through it. Tell us at community@augustalocallygrown.org as soon as you think someone else has your access.

  1. CropSwap accounts. Give accurate information and keep it current. Keep your password secret. Do not share your account. If you use Google sign-in, keep your Google account secure.

  2. Classes management links. We email you a secure link. It is your only way to manage your registration without contacting us. Anyone with the link can manage the registration. Do not forward it to people you do not trust. The link expires one year after the registration is created.

  3. Homegrown ticket codes. Your ticket code signs you in to the class picker. Treat it like a ticket. Anyone with it can change your session picks.

  4. Staff credentials. Staff, producers, managers, and drivers must keep their credentials confidential, use them only for ALG work, and follow any further rules we set. We may suspend a staff account at any time.

We may refuse, suspend, or close any account, link, or code if we believe it is being misused.

5. CropSwap marketplace terms

5.1 How the market works

ALG runs the market and is the merchant of record. You buy from ALG. We charge you, we handle your refund, and we are your point of contact.

Producers are independent. Farmers and other producers are independent businesses. They are not our employees, partners, or agents. They grow, make, and supply the products. They are responsible for the safety, quality, labeling, and legality of what they supply.

5.2 Product availability

Our products are grown, not manufactured. Availability changes with the weather, the harvest, and the season. We cannot promise that any item you order will be available. If an item is unavailable after you order, we will remove it from your order and you will not be charged for it.

5.3 Payment, holds, and partial capture

Payment is by Stripe. When you check out, we place a hold (an authorization) on your card for the full order amount. We do not take the money then. We take the money (we “capture” the hold) when your order is filled.

If some items are unavailable, we capture less than the hold — only what you actually receive. A hold that is not captured is released by your bank, usually within a few business days. Your bank controls that timing, not us.

5.4 Pickup

Choose a pickup site and pick up your order during the posted pickup window. If you cannot make it, contact us at community@augustalocallygrown.org before the window closes and we will try to help.

We cannot hold fresh food safely past its pickup window. Orders not collected by the end of the window may be donated or disposed of, and may not be refunded. Please tell us in advance.

5.5 Delivery

Where delivery is offered, you must give a complete and accurate delivery address and any access instructions. Someone should be available to receive perishable food. If a delivery cannot be made because the address was wrong or nobody could receive it, we may not be able to refund the order.

5.6 Cancellations and refunds

You may cancel or change an order until the order deadline shown at checkout. After that deadline, produce has usually been harvested or reserved for you.

If something arrives damaged, spoiled, missing, or wrong, contact community@augustalocallygrown.org within 48 hours of pickup or delivery. We will refund or replace the item. Refunds go back to the original payment method through Stripe. How long your bank takes is up to your bank.

5.7 SNAP/EBT, cash, and check

Some pickup sites accept cash, check, and SNAP/EBT. Where SNAP/EBT is accepted, it may be used only for eligible food items, under the rules of the USDA Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program. Delivery fees, service fees, and ineligible items must be paid another way. Any matching or incentive program we run has its own published rules and limits.

6. Producer terms

These apply if you sell on CropSwap.

  1. Accurate listings. Describe your products, prices, units, and growing practices accurately. Do not make claims you cannot support. Do not use a term like “organic” or “certified” unless you hold that certification.

  2. Food safety and licensing. You must comply with all federal, state, and local law that applies to you, including food safety, cottage food, labeling, weights and measures, and licensing rules. You must hold any permit, license, or insurance we or the law require. You are responsible for the safety of what you supply.

  3. Content licence. You keep ownership of your farm profile, photos, story, and listings. You grant ALG a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to display, reproduce, adapt for formatting, and promote that content on the Services and in ALG marketing, for as long as you sell with us and for a reasonable period after. You confirm you have the right to grant it.

  4. Approval workflow. Profile edits, new listings, and category suggestions require ALG staff approval before they go live. We may edit for clarity, decline, or remove content at our discretion.

  5. Payouts. ALG pays producers for goods supplied, less any agreed commission or fee, on the schedule at set out in your producer agreement and shown in your producer dashboard. We pay for what is actually supplied and accepted. We may withhold payment for items not supplied, refunded, or in dispute, until the dispute is resolved.

  6. Independence. You are an independent business, not an employee of ALG. You are responsible for your own taxes and insurance.

7. Classes terms

7.1 Registration

Register at classes.augustalocallygrown.org and pay through Stripe Checkout. You do not need an account. You may register up to ten attendees in one purchase. Give each attendee’s real name and contact details — the roster is how we run the class.

We email a confirmation with a secure management link. Use it to transfer an attendee’s name, correct contact details, cancel, or download a calendar file.

7.2 Seat limits

Every class has a seat limit. Seats are sold first come, first served. Adding a class to checkout holds the seats for a short time only; the seats are yours when payment completes.

7.3 Cancellation and refunds

Each class listing shows its own cancellation cutoff, stated as a number of hours before the class starts. The standard cutoff is 24 hours before the class starts, unless the listing says otherwise. Some classes use a 48-hour cutoff. Always check the listing.

  1. Before the cutoff: cancel yourself through your management link. We refund the full purchase automatically through Stripe.

  2. After the cutoff: online cancellation closes. Contact community@augustalocallygrown.org. Refunds after the cutoff are at ALG’s discretion.

  3. Refunds go to the original payment method. Your bank decides how long it takes to appear.

  4. Cancelling a single attendee from a multi-attendee order is a manual process. Contact us and we will handle it.

7.4 Transfers

You may change the name on a seat through your management link at any time before the class. Tell the new attendee that they are registered, and give us their correct contact details.

7.5 Changes and cancellations by ALG

We may change the date, time, location, or instructor of a class. If we do, we email everyone registered. If we cancel a class, you get a full refund. If we change a class significantly and the new arrangements do not work for you, tell us and we will refund you in full.

7.6 Attendance

Arrive on time. We record attendance and no-shows. A no-show is not refunded.
